Love him though we may, it’s hard to sympathize with Scoble. The fear here, I believe, is that Microsoft will relegate the Web to a transport for connecting Windows servers and Windows clients. Microsoft could do this and it’s only rational to expect the company to try. Neither Linux nor Apple could ever accomplish this. Apple could never lock things up because they have too small a market share. Linux isn’t even a company, so it makes no sense to talk about Linux “doing” anything.
