Gmail

A couple of notable words of support for Gmail in the mostly negative commentary passing through my newsreader.
Michael Slater writes in Gmail is not Webmail: “Ok, Lynx isn’t going to work, third party applications inside Mozilla won’t work, blind users cannot use it, there are a lot of special accessibility functions where it will fail. But on the other hand, for the Pareto’s Rule set of browser environments it will work, and it will work a lot better than its loathesome alternatives.”
Kevin Marks in a comment on Jeremy Zawodny’s blog: “Gmail looks like a great place to keep mailing lists. Unlike Yahoo groups they keep the ads discreet and on-topic. I have over a GB of mailing lists on my hard drive that I’d love to have someone else store for me in a useful searchable form. Revolution? no.”
