New on the desktop: GAIM instant messaging client. I used to use it back in my Linux desktop days. When I switched to Windows I started using Trillian because it could handle multiple protocols (AIM, IRC, ICQ etc.). But it was always a little buggy and I had interoperability trouble with at least one iChat user. GAIM works with Windows now. Getting better results with it so far. Added bonus: a lovely white-on-orange XML button at the top of their home page.
